“Dearly Beloved and Fellow Labourer” March 2009 During a recession people stop spending money because of cut backs, layoff, foreclosures, stock market crashes, etc… President Barak Obama introduced his “Stimulus Package” to jump start the American economy. The Stimulus Package is designed to put money back into American people’s pocket and encourage them to spend money buying things that will cause growth in the economy. A recession occurs when people put their trust in uncertain riches where money hungry thieves break in and steal. The world system is to get all you can, can all you get, then sit on the can and create demand. God has His own stimulus package and it’s called Sowing & Reaping. It’s not based on the world’s system, but Kingdom principles. These principles are found in His word and it simply says to give and it shall be given to you. Gods plan is designed to jump start your own personal economy and keep you from getting caught up in the world’s system. It’s not dependent on the stock market, cut backs, lay-offs, bank foreclosures, or a recession. It depends on your obedience to His word. Let’s look at some of these Kingdom principles: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 2 Cor 9:6. “And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work”. 2 Cor 9:8. Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have [sown] and increase the fruits of your righteousness. 2 Cor 9:10 Giving causes receiving and when you give or invest into the kingdom, God is able to give you grace in every area of your life and make sure that you have enough to give to every good work. He will supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness. Now the seed that God gives is His word. His word is a seed and it must go into the ground or the heart of men. The seed that you sow is your finances. When you put your seed into the hands of a sower this allows them to take the seed of God’s word to the field and sow it. The more fertile the ground is, the better the harvest. Fertilizer is made from dung and the people we minister to, their lives are full of crap. This is what makes New Life for Old Ministries good ground to plant seed into, because we take the seed of God’s word and plant it into the hearts and lives of hurting people. Look at what the scripture tells us in Mathew 6:19-21: “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also”. When we participate in God’s system, we invest in the bank of heaven where money hungry thieves’ can’t break in and steal. But in order to participate in God’s plan we cannot lean towards our own understanding. We can’t be concern about what we are going to eat, what we are going wear, or where we are going to live. We must trust in His word and seek first the Kingdom and His righteousness. In other words we must seek to do His will first in our lives. I want to encourage you during these times of famine to get involved with the work of the ministry. Cast caution to the wind and get your seed into the hands of a sower, someone who is taking the seed of God’s word to field. So that you will have treasures in the bank of heaven where thieves can’t break in and steal. See if our Heavenly Father will not open up the windows of heaven and pour you out a blessing and increase the fruit of your ground. This past month, we sowed the seed of God’s Word to 2,256 people in the prisons, jails, youth camps, and missions. There were 246 people that received Christ, 107 received the Holy Spirit, 116 rededicated their life to the Lord, and over 150 received prayer, healing and counseling. My continued prayer for you is that our God will make all grace towards you and that you have sufficiency in all things and be able to give to every good work. We set ourselves in agreement with you for the proper return on your giving and remember we are workers together with Him.
