Minister Charles L. Brown has been in and out of prison for over twenty years, but not as an inmate, but as a minister of the gospel. In 1986, after visiting several penal institutions and seeing the great need for the people to be taught how to live according to the Word of God, the Lord placed upon his heart to start a ministry that would go into prisons on a consistent basis to teach the people how to live the overcoming, victorious new life in Jesus Christ. In January 1990, as a major step of faith, trusting that God would indeed supply all his need, Minister Brown stepped out and founded New Life for Old Ministries in Los Angeles, California. Minister Brown also serves as a Chaplain with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department at Pitchess Honor Ranch. He and his lovely wife, Cynthia, have four wonderful children and two beautiful grandsons.

Primarily we minister to men, women, boys and girls who are incarcerated in prisons, jails and youth camps. We also minister to those who are bound and broken in the missions and drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers. We have more than 50 volunteers working with us, and we have ministered in over 30 institutions through out California and Nevada. We are not a church and we are not represented by any local churches or religious denominations. However, all of our volunteers are members of different local churches throughout the Los Angeles area. Every week we send out ministry teams consisting of two to six volunteers to teach and preach God’s Word. We do worship services, Bible studies, musical concerts and dramatic performances. We minister to an average of 2,000 people every month. Our objective is to affect a change in individual lives by providing the uncompromised Word of God. To assure them that once they have accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior, each is a new creature in Christ and has received a New Life for the Old. |
